2018 Blue Roan Quarter Horse Stallion
born May 13, 2018
Definitely the best stallion prospect we have ever offered. Not at all an easy decision to sell Changer. Out of two roan parents, this colt is truly an incredible horse. He stands on dark feet and has no white. He is out of a fantastic old red roan mare who was a favorite. She has produced wonderfully for us and we have 2 daughters in our broodmare band (one is a full sister). Changer was effortless to halter train. He is truly going to be a huge asset to a breeding program! 5 panel N/N. Color tested. Just like his sire, he is blue roan, but not homozygous for the black or roan genes. The girls put a ride on Changer this spring when none of us were around and he did great – super smart, willing, ready to learn. We just haven’t had time to do more with him. We truly went back and forth about retaining him for our own program, but with many sisters in the herd and 2 other young stallions that are the same age coming up in our program, we finally decided it would not be wise to keep him. Changer is easy to catch in the pasture, respectful, smart and ready to learn, athletic, and able to breed mares now. He has great substance of bone, good feet, good withers, good hip! He should mature in the 15.1+ hand range – a good sized horse to do any and every job! Someone will love this colt. He is so much like his sire! He has the potential to really be a great roping horse. We’d really like him to go to a home where he can perform to his potential. We call him Changer because he can really change the world! If left a stallion, we retain breeding rights to a small number of mares annually.

Here is video of Changer’s first ride. The girls decided to do it when no one else was home. I love it because it shows older sister coaching younger sister how to drive and read a colt!
