NOTICE: New in 2024, Mahlstedt Ranch will not offer Block Management Hunting for any hunting including deer, antelope, or turkeys.
We are in Unit 703 and have healthy populations of deer, antelope, upland game birds, and predators. Monster mule deer are set in a backdrop of the roughest sector of the “Sheep Mountains”.
All hunters must check in at the house for written permission slips.
1. Big Game on the Divide
With ~5,000 acres of hunting land, our property is the perfect destination for your next Montana Big Game Hunt. Challenging badland terrain makes for an exhilarating hunt! Off road vehicles are recommended. We offer exclusive mule deer packages for your hunting. Booked on a first come basis. Additional fees apply if purchased in person the day of hunt.

Lodging at Jord’s House: $500/night lodging for up to 4 people
Mule deer $350/hunter/day
Antelope $330/hunter/day
Turkey $175/hunter/day
1 hour tour showing lay of the land and access areas can be scheduled additionally
2. Hunting on the Lower half of the Ranch – Deer, Antelope, Turkey
With more than 7000 acres of private land, our property has been a hot spot for BMA hunting for decades. In order to make hunting a better experience for hunters who come to our ranch as well as for our family, hunting access will be limited to paid reservations booked on a first come basis. Additional fees apply if purchased in person the day of hunt (if there is availability).
Options:
Deer or Antelope or Turkey hunt only: $175/hunter/day
~Youth 15 & younger are half price
~Active Law Enforcement 20% discount
Hunt with lodging at Hannah’s House: $150/hunter/day plus $350/night lodging for up to 4 people
Lodging in Hannah’s House can be a great basecamp for hunting in the area. Note: Booking Hannah’s House does not give automatic access to hunting on our ranch. Reservations for hunting and Hannah’s House can be made following the link below.
4. Bird Hunting
New in 2024, Bird Hunting will be limited but offered at no charge on the Lower half of the ranch. Hunting packages are available on the Upper half. Precedence will be given to hunters staying in our vacation rental houses. Healthy populations of pheasant, grouse, huns, & doves are available along with some quail.
You must obtain written permission on-site prior to hunting on Mahlstedt Ranch. Unit 703
Lodging
Lodging is available on our ranch. Two rental houses, RV hookups, and camping are options for hunters to the area. Hunters will have the ability to hang tagged animals during their stay in outbuildings.
Hannah’s House – available to hunters on the lower half of the Ranch & to anyone looking for a place to stay.
Jord’s House – secluded cabin option only offered to hunters on the Divide (during hunting season)
RV Hookups – power and water. Located right in the pasture where antelope like to hang out too
Camping – Minimal fee camping . Dependent on weather & fire conditions.
