Happy Spring! We hope you are enjoying moderating weather. It was a cold February here and then when it warmed up, the snow ran off with a flourish. It filled the reservoirs which was a blessing.

We are praying for rain. The camelina is mostly planted. The animals are ‘starving’ for a bite of green grass (this is when the grass is coming SLOWLY but everyone runs looking far a blade rather than eating the hay set in front of them).
Calving began March 31st and has been rolling right along nicely. Tienna and her horses got home today from their winter in AZ. It is so good to have her back!

In the news….
Our amazing Alexis was recently interviewed by the Tri-State Livestock News Farmer & Rancher Exchange regarding how Winter Rye has been a fit for our operation. Here is a link to the article: https://www.tsln.com/…/forage-2025-winter-rye-grazing…/

MRI 2025 Expected Foals!
Foaling will be starting in the second half of April with our ride mares going first. Our list of expected foals is up on the website. We will again offer most of the foals this summer via our Pasture Pick Pricing (PPP). That information is available on our website. Remember that we generally post new arrivals to our Facebook page first so that is where to watch!

Always options for your MRI horse shopping
Sales have been steady in the first quarter of 2025 and we appreciate past & new customers choosing from our program. We still have some fantastic prospects (many of my favorites are still here!) ready to start under saddle & an incredible set of yearlings. They are still wooly from winter & many people need to see a slick horse to know what they are seeing, but the roans are turning white in preparation for shedding.

Everyone knows how great Sanrose Blue Colonel and his foals are. As people are starting their Sugar Irish Oak & Can Man Fling offspring, we are getting great reports. I firmly believe we offer the complete package with our horses: disposition, brains, pedigree, talent, & try with feet legs and conformation to give you a comfortable ride for a LONG time. Our favorite hauler is coming through the end of April so if you act quickly, you can get yours on the trailer!

Speaking of stallions, Vince (LHR Dun Vintagesmoke) spent a few days training on the dummy for collection and he did as wonderfully well as we expected! We are not sure yet when we’ll start shipping on him; it is something to watch for if you’re interested. Sorry I do not have a picture of him on my computer. I’ll work to get some because he is looking good!
From past buyers….
It is so encouraging to hear & see how MRI horses are partners. I have been hearing from many lately; it’s great. Here are a few to show you the variety of things MRI horses do:
Liz in NY owns MRI Rockabella, a 2021 Colonel daughter – “She’s been a dream horse- at barely 4 years old, she’s my go-to mare when I need a solid performance. Absolutely honest and smooth as they come, she’s the perfect size for polo and the most level-headed youngster I’ve had the pleasure to work with! Alert but not spooky, calm but not a dud- I look forward to many happy rides with my MRI horse.”

Shawn purchased MRI Badlands Blue, a 2022 Colonel son. Shawn has been dealing with cancer so his trainer in PA has trained his stallion, Blue, to lay down for Shawn to mount.

Christin in TX says, “Our family has owned MRI Blue Sage Lady (daughter of Provocative Cowboy) for about eight years and my 16-year-old daughter is the current owner… Lakota has been an amazing horse.”

Sometimes it is just a matter of being beautiful. Bill in AL purchased these 2 Colonel offspring from us and came back for another MRI horse this year. Being part of a daughter’s engagement photo session is important horse business too!

Thanks for checking in with us. May your 2025 be amazing. We hope to see you this year! Remember: Life is short. Stop to smell the horses 😉

Wishing you all a Happy Easter & a beautiful spring,
Tana & Crew
