Hello from our world! July began hot, dry, and frantic as we dealt with multiple fires caused by haying equipment on our and our neighbors’ land. If you follow us on social media, you saw how stressful some of these were along with the miracles God gave us. We really appreciate our rural volunteer fire departments and the grasslands unit place on our ranch!!!! Over 2″ of rain this last week was more than we had gotten all year. Our nerves were definitely soothed by it!
Happenings….
July is rodeo month in our area which marks the mid summer point. Alexis won the Terry 4th of July Rodeo Saddle horse race easily on MRI Finish the Fudge and took 3rd in Breakaway on MRI Lookout Speedy.
Tienna and Can Man Fling entered the PRCA world in barrel racing this month! It’s not always about winning the buckle (though that is the most fun). My mom heart swelled with pride when, after a rodeo of not catching in the breakaway and tipping a barrel in barrel racing, Alexis commented that it was operator error and an experience that she learned from.
That is the big win!

Our foal crop this year continues to amaze me. We love our horses so much and are proud of all they offer their owners. I get messages regularly telling about how great our horses are. My favorites are ones like this from the youth….
Pasture Pick Pricing coming to an end
The foals are looking amazing! Our Pasture Pick Pricing (PPP) ends on August 1st. Through the month of August we will be preparing for halter breaking and our open house. Weanling sales will be on hold through August until our Open House on August 31st at the ranch. The only exceptions will be to those who have already scheduled to come look at the foals. So far babies are going to homes in Montana, Wyoming, Minnesota, and Mexico. With our largest group ever and not a bad one in the bunch haha, you can still get your pick! Plus we have fantastic older prospects available and sales on those will continue as usual.
Don’t miss our Open House
We will halter break over Labor Day weekend and then all foals will be individually priced for our Open House on Sunday, August 31st 2-5 pm at the ranch. This is when all of our horses are in the corrals for viewing. We have added bred aged and bred young mares to our sale offering this year. There will be specials on the weanlings that day only. Plan to attend or come visit when it works for you! Remember we sell privately year round.
